The Consultation

Consultations are with Dr Rebecca Quin, Charted Clinical Psychologist and are approximately 50 minutes for a parent consultation. Child therapy sessions can vary from between 30 – 45 minutes while assessments can take up to 90 minutes depending on the age of the child.

Consultations with parents can take place either in person or via zoom. Individual child therapy sessions and cognitive assessments take place in the clinic setting.

The information and advice provided by Rebecca during the consultations is her expert professional opinion. Following this advice is done so at your own risk. Rebecca and The Psychology Practice accepts no liability for any loss (financial or otherwise), damage or injury that occurs as a result of following any of the advice given.

As a Chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI), Rebecca adheres to their ethical framework and guidelines to ensure that you receive a professional and quality service.

Your initial phone consultation with Rebecca is free of charge. Rebecca will use your contact details provided via the website and arrange to call you at a time that suits you. The purpose of this phone call is to establish whether or not The Psychology Practice is the most appropriate service to meet your child’s needs at this time. If the service is not appropriate, Rebecca will discuss other possible options with you but is not responsible for ensuring that your child gains access to another service.

If you choose to have your consultation with Rebecca over Zoom, the consultation confirmation email will also contain a Zoom link for the consultation. At the time of your consultation, click on the Zoom link to be taken to the virtual waiting room. Rebecca will then commence the consultation with you as soon as she can.

After the consultation with Rebecca you will typically receive an email from the Psychology Practice with a summary of the consultation, including any advice/recommendations provided to you by Rebecca. Following a cognitive assessment or an emotion/behaviour assessment, you will receive a written report within two weeks of the assessment being completed.
