About The Psychology Practice

The Psychology Practice was founded by Dr. Rebecca Quin, Senior Clinical Psychologist in 2021. It aims to provide psychological assessment and intervention to school aged children who present with low level emotional and behavioural difficulties such as low mood, anxiety, anger and aggression, for example. Parent workshops and group-based interventions are also provided.  

Meet Rebecca

Rebecca (BA, MSc, D. Clin Psych, C.Psychol.PSI) is a chartered clinical psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland. She is a Senior Clinical Psychologist with 15 years experience working with children, adolescents and their families within disability, primary care, early intervention and school-age services. Rebecca achieved a 1st class honours degree in Trinity College and was awarded a distinction in her MSc in Foundations of Clinical Psychology. She was then awarded a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Limerick in 2008.

After qualifying, Rebecca worked in London for over a year in the Neuropsychology Department of King’s College Hospital and then spent a further year at the Institute of Psychiatry, Maudsley Hospital, where she was the research lead on the development of a group-based intervention for carer’s of people with Parkinson’s disease.

When she returned to Ireland she worked as a Senior Clinical Psychologist in the Neuropsychology department at Beaumont hospital, and subsequently in St. Patrick’s University Hospital where she worked with both adults and older adults with significant mental health difficulties. 

In 2012 she took up a senior role with Enable Ireland Wicklow services where her passion for working with children and their families grew. She provides psychological assessment and intervention to children & adolescents with physical and intellectual disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). She also provides support to parents, siblings and teachers of children with disabilities.
